It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a platform to produce her most recent brilliance.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this triumph succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.
